About

The second branch of Kuta Bali Cafe, an Indonesian restaurant headquartered in Hachioji, which opened on September 21, 2024, right in front of the Takeshita exit of Harajuku Station. It serves Balinese food in an interior styled like a Bali resort. With the Indonesian staple nasi campur (mixed rice plate) as its signature, it offers an Asian-resort atmosphere in the Harajuku area of Jingumae, Shibuya Ward.

— Balinese food right by Takeshita-dori

The signature nasi campur is a Balinese-Indonesian everyday plate, with four to six side dishes arranged around white rice. It combines chicken sate, stir-fried vegetables, sambal, fried peanuts, and gado-gado (Indonesian salad). Other Indonesian standards such as nasi goreng, mie goreng, sate ayam, and gula jawa are also available. The interior uses a Southeast Asian, Bali-resort style, with rattan furniture, plants, and Balinese decor creating a tropical-resort feel in Harajuku. Located just outside the Takeshita exit of Harajuku Station, it is easy for tourists and younger visitors to reach. Open daily 11:00-22:00 (last order 21:30).

“Halal Indonesian Cuisine”

Kuta Bali Café is only a three minute walk from Harajuku Station and serves fully halal Indonesian food with a prayer room available inside. I ordered Ayam Bakar, Gurame Kuta Bali, Lawar, and Bubur Ketan Hitam. Everything tasted authentic and comforting, the sambal was flavorful and spicy, the gurame was crispy with plenty of bumbu, and the dessert was warm and soothing. The restaurant has a cozy Indonesian atmosphere and is very convenient for Muslim visitors who want a proper meal and a mushola nearby.
