About

Located on Yasukuni Street, not far from Jimbocho Station, this is a specialty restaurant serving Lanzhou beef ramen. It is the first Japanese branch of "Mazilu," a long-established restaurant founded in Lanzhou, Gansu Province, China in 1912, and the only Lanzhou ramen restaurant to be certified as a "Chinese Time-Honored Name." It is also the restaurant's first overseas branch. Mr. Seino, who was drawn to Lanzhou ramen while studying in China, frequented the original restaurant, received permission to open his own branch, and opened it in 2017 after training.

— From chive leaves to triangular shapes, handmade noodles

The signature dish is Lanzhou Beef Noodles, a noodle dish with a clear broth made by simmering beef and beef bones with medicinal spices. The noodles are made to order by artisans who hand-stretch the dough, and you can watch their technique in the open kitchen. You can choose the thickness and shape from thin noodles like somen, flat noodles the width of a chive leaf called "Nirae", and triangular cross-section noodles called "Soba Reng", with the thick triangular noodles "Ara Soba Reng" being an original creation of Ma Zi Lu in Japan that is not available in Lanzhou. The dish is topped with simmered beef, daikon radish, homemade chili oil, cilantro, and garlic leaves. It is an authentic, handmade bowl of noodles where you can change the flavor by choosing your noodles.

A taste of Lanzhou-style beef noodle in Tokyo 🍜✨ Finally tried Mazilu Halal Beef Noodle, a halal-certified restaurant serving handmade beef noodles with rich broth, tender beef, and chewy noodles 🥢🤍 One thing I love is that you can choose your noodle thickness, just like the traditional Lanzhou style! The spicy oil, fresh coriander, and warm soup make it such a comforting bowl, especially on a cold day 🌿 They also have halal beef gyoza 🥟
