Mackey's Gumbo

For me, who loves international cuisine, my first "gumbo" was a fresh experience! Looks like curry, but actually has a completely different, distinctive flavor. Hard to describe, but it's packed with the deliciousness of a stew — closer to minestrone perhaps. I visited at lunch, but it's mainly an evening bar with a rich alcohol selection. Mostly counter seats in a narrow space — not great for kids. The funk music creates a distinctive atmosphere that may divide preferences. The owner runs it solo, so service takes a bit, but you can feel the care in each dish. The owner is very kind and listened carefully about allergies — could dine with peace of mind! For someone with wheat allergy, all gluten-free is wonderful! The fluffy Indica rice was fresh, and they said it's low-carb & healthy. I had the most popular "Mix Gumbo" — fully satisfied. Sweets are also gluten-free; I wanted to order the gâteau chocolat, but it was sold out that day. Next time, definitely!
