Salon de the Rima

6 min walk from Shin-Koiwa. A café with a dog run attached. • 3 tables inside (1 each for 2/4/6) • Terrace seats When I visited, it was packed with dog-owning customers. A very healing space, but those with animal allergies should be careful. *Seat photos are of the terrace. Vegan lunch menu is provided by Besties Tokyo this time, and the gluten-free/vegan cake is by Salon de the Rima. Café time is 14:00-17:00, but since I had a lunch from Besties Tokyo, cake eat-in was also possible! (I went around 12:00, so not all cakes were in the showcase.) ▪︎ My order • Strawberry Zuccotto Cake packed with strawberries. Besides the strawberries on the cut surface, a whole strawberry was hidden inside — a happy surprise! Abstract expression, but: among the vegan sweets I've had, this is one where you can feel "delicious + also extremely kind to the body." The soy milk cream was so gentle you could keep eating forever. Mysteriously, despite being this gentle, the cream isn't refreshing-to-the-point-of-boring. It's closer in texture to custard cream than fresh cream! The sponge made of brown rice is slightly crumbly, but eaten with the cream, it becomes moist in the mouth ♡ Really delicious cake!
