About

Wagyu Yakiniku PANGA main shop (和牛焼肉ぱんが本店) is the Shin-Okachimachi flagship of "Panga" (ぱんが), a yakiniku restaurant that buys A5-grade wagyu by the whole animal and prepares it to halal standards. It is located at 3-27-9 Taito (台東), Taito City (台東区), near Shin-Okachimachi Station (新御徒町駅) on the Tokyo Metro Oedo Line. Only the top approximately 4% of A5-grade wagyu is selected. By buying whole cattle from a butcher who slaughters Islamic-style, the shop can offer every cut - including rare ones - to halal standards. No additives are used at all.

— A5 wagyu, only the top 4%

The signature is offering only the top approximately 4% of A5-grade wagyu (和牛). The biggest difference from other shops: domestic Japanese Black is bought as a whole animal from a butcher who slaughters Islamic-style, so every cut - including rare ones - can be presented to halal standards. The menu features many A5 wagyu cuts, including premium karubi (特上カルビ), premium loin (特上ロース), premium beef tongue (特上タン), upper harami (上ハラミ), rare cuts, and course meals. With the wish of "sharing this precious Japanese ingredient with people around the world," the shop has welcomed Muslim customers from many countries since earning halal certification. No additives are used at all. Near Shin-Okachimachi Station, the location is easy to combine with sightseeing in Ueno and Asakusa. Hours: Monday to Saturday 11:30 to 14:00 and 17:00 to 22:30; Sunday 17:00 to 21:00.

“Tokyo's Halal Yakiniku!”

I visited during lunch time, because the lunch set is much more affordable compared to the dinner menu. For halal yakiniku in Tokyo, this is one of the cheapest and best value options during lunch hours. I ordered the A5 Wagyu Special Lunch Set along with Seafood Hot Soup. The A5 wagyu slices were beautifully marbled, tender, and melted easily once grilled. Each cut had a different texture and richness, making the lunch set feel premium even though the price was very budget friendly. The dipping sauces and small sides added a nice balance to the richness of the meat. The seafood hot soup was warm, spicy, and comforting. It had a deep broth flavor with seafood notes and a gentle heat that paired well with the grilled meat. I felt so happy, satisfied, and honestly surprised at the value. The combination of A5 wagyu and a comforting hot soup at lunchtime made the whole visit feel special without spending too much. The restaurant atmosphere felt lively but still comfortable. Halal Yakiniku Panga is well known for being fully halal and the restautant has the halal-certification. I felt completely safe eating here. The lunch sets are very popular and can sell out or get crowded quickly, so visiting earlier during lunch hours is recommended. Portions are good, so choose your set based on your usual appetite. There is no prayer room, but there is a Masjid As Salam nearby. If you want halal A5 wagyu yakiniku at an affordable price, Panga in Okachimachi is one of the best choices in Tokyo (lunch time). The quality, flavor, and value are amazing, especially for lunch. A must visit for halal yakiniku lovers 🥩✨
