2026.01.17“Indonesian Food”
I tried Garuda Cafe in Kamata, an Indonesian restaurant that is not halal certified but all of the food is halal, and they also provide a prayer room which is very helpful for Muslim customers. I ordered ayam geprek and batagor. The ayam geprek was spicy, crispy, and really satisfying, and the rice and side vegetables made the portion complete. The batagor was delicious with a generous peanut sauce that tasted very authentic. The restaurant atmosphere is cozy and spacious, with Indonesian decorations that make it feel warm and familiar. I felt safe eating here because the staff clearly understands halal needs and confirmed that everything is halal. The prayer room is clean and convenient. If you come during lunch hours, the price is also reasonable and the portion is good. The only caution is that the sambal can be very spicy, so adjust it based on your preference.
