DIYA Tokyo Midtown Hibiya（ディヤ東京ミッドタウン日比谷店）

Diya is one of those hidden gems in central Tokyo, located in the Ginza/Hibiya area, that offers halal options. It’s not widely known as a halal restaurant, as there are no halal markings on the regular menu. However, if you ask the staff, they will bring out a separate halal menu where you can choose dishes like chicken biryani, various curries, and meat grills. This time, I ordered the chicken biryani. Since the restaurant is inside a high end mall Hibiya Midtown Tower, the atmosphere is clean and pleasant. I especially liked the framed display of spices. Adds charm to the interior. The biryani was enjoyable and clearly adjusted to Japanese taste buds, not overly spicy. Lunch hours can get quite busy on weekdays, as office workers from the upper floors come down for their break. Overall, I really liked the vibe of the place and the fact that halal options are available.
